UPDATE: Victim Dies in Hit and Run Crash into Residence

UPDATE 11/20/2024: According to officials, the victim expired this afternoon from injuries suffered overnight following a hit-and-run crash. The assailant remains at large at this time. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.

LAND O'LAKES, FL – A Tampa man was seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into a residence on US-41 early Tuesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a Chevy Tahoe was traveling southbound on US-41 when the driver lost control, crashed through a chain link fence, and collided with a Honda Fit parked in the driveway of 4535 US-41. The collision propelled the Honda through the residence and struck a 37-year-old Tampa man on the other side.

The driver of the Tahoe exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Witnesses described the driver as a white female, 5'7", mid-30s, with shoulder-length reddish blonde hair.

The victim was airlifted to a trauma center after suffering serious injuries.
