BROOKSVILLE, FL - One-term Commissioner Beth Narverud isn't happy about her loss to newcomer Ryan Amsler during the Primary Election, but she's not going away quietly.
Narverud, the former Domino's Pizza owner turned real estate agent, colluded with Hernando County Sheriff (HCSO) Al Nienhuis to hand over Animal Services to HCSO. Bad blood between Nienhuis and the current Animal Service Director and former HCSO Major, James Terry, is the alleged reason for the attempted coup.
Narverud, a staunch ally of the Sheriff, stood by Nienhuis even when he ignored an illegal slaughterhouse in Brooksville and refused to press charges against the owners. That action did not bode well with voters that close to the election, and they certainly did not approve of her continued support after news broke of the debacle.
In a last-ditch effort as a lame-duck commissioner, Narverud is poised to push her unpopular agenda once again during tomorrow's BOCC meeting, even after, sources say, a recent audit of Animal Services revealed they passed with flying colors under Terry's leadership.
Commissioner Steve Champion tells R News he plans to vehemently reject Narverud's motion and will encourage the other commissioners to do the same. It's unknown if Sheriff Nienhuis will be present during tomorrow's meeting.

Two nights ago I saw a police drone flying over the neighborhood of 19/county line, it was about 30 feet in the air , it blinks red and blue, and it started flashing white like it was taking pictures. She I was outside it looked.like it stopped and looked.at me. Did anyone know they are doing this? They don't have bwc's but they are using drones to fly over peoples houses and take pictures? I learned from this site they have surveillance cameras at other neighborhoods too.
