Man Suffers Severe Injuries After Rear End Collision with Logging Truck

BROOKSVILLE – A 24-year-old Brooksville man barely escaped with his life after colliding with the rear of a logging truck early Thursday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a Chevy Silverado was traveling westbound on SR-50 when he collided with the rear of a logging truck that was beginning to accelerate from a traffic light at Emerson Road.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a trauma center for treatment. Sources say he is expected to survive.

The driver of the logging truck was not injured.
