Remains of Missing Webster Man Found Along Highway, Victim of Hit and Run

DADE CITY, FL – A tragic end to the search for a Webster man who disappeared from his home earlier this month.

On September 8th, officials say 63-year-old Boby Joe McCall walked away from his home on Kramer Street to try and purchase a car title on Snyder Street, less than a mile from his home.

On Thursday, authorities received a tip about a hit-and-run victim lying on the side of US-301, north of SR-50. The Florida Highway Patrol responded and confirmed the deceased to be McCall.

Officials say they do not know when the crash occurred and they have no leads into who struck McCall.

There were no additional details provided into why McCall's body was discovered more than four miles from his home when officials say he was just walking from Kramer Street to Snyder Street.

It's unknown why the Hernando County Sheriff's Office announced that a search was underway for McCall after his body had already been discovered.
