Teacher Arrested for Discussing Sex Acts with Student

SPRING HILL – The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is reporting the arrest of a Deltona Elementary School teacher who they say used a dating app to talk about sex acts he would perform with a 14-year-old student.

Officials say while 47-year-old Michael Ronald Iannaccone was working as a teacher at Deltona Elementary, he would communicate with the victim and discuss various sex acts. Detectives say Iannaccone was often in the classroom while communicating with the child.

On August 6th, detectives were contacted by the victim who then took over the conversation, posing as the victim. Iannaccone continued making the statements to detectives.

On August 7th, detectives met with Iannaccone at the School District Office in Brooksville, where he admitted to making the statements.

Iannaccone was booked into the Hernando County Jail on charges of Transmitting Harmful Material to a Minor, and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Devise.

Iannaccone is held on a $4,500 bond.

School District Spokesperson Karen Jordan said in a statement, "...the law is clear and a recommendation for termination is warranted." Jordan goes on to assure parents and students that Iannaccone will not be allowed back on campus.
