Spring Hill Woman Charged with Multiple Counts of Arson, Jealously Possible Motive

SPRING HILL – A Spring Hill woman was arrested on Wednesday after officials say she set several fires inside Bridgewater Club Loop Apartments.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, on June 10th a male victim contacted the agency after discovering the windshield of his vehicle was damaged and that it appeared to have been set fire.

On June 17th, the same victim reported that his driver-side window had been smashed and the rear seat had burn marks. During the investigation, deputies discovered burn marks on the side of the apartment building and the word "Prostitute" spray painted on a female resident's door.

On June 22nd, the victim was able to capture video of the suspect setting another fire on the outside of the apartment building as in the previous attempt.

A detective with the Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives was able to determine all four fires were related.

A co-worker of the male victim told detectives that he believed the victims were targeted because they were sleeping together.

On June 26th detective made contact with the suspect, 22-year-old Liszette Ortiz-Rosado and questioned her about the allegations. Ortiz-Rosado denied setting the fires and then began making repeated irrational statements, according to reports.

Ortiz-Rosado was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Arson of a Dwelling and two counts of Arson of a Vehicle.

Ortiz-Rosado is currently held on a $50,000 bond.
