Two Teens Face Multiple Burglary Charges Because of "Door-Kick" Challenge

SPRING HILL – The Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) is reporting the arrest of two juvenile suspects involved in a string of "Kick-In" style burglaries. VIDEO

According to officials, social media tips led investigators to the arrest of Brody Abdon and Gavyn Trapp, both just 15 years old, on multiple counts of burglary.

The investigation began earlier this week when HCSO published Ring doorbell video of two suspects attempting to kick in the door of a residence on Bluewater Ave. Officials say they've taken four reports of similar incidents where the door is kicked in, but the suspects never make entry.

Both suspects admitted to kicking in doors to four homes because of a social media "Door-Kick Challenge." They also advised that they never intended to make entry.

Both suspects have been charged and released into the custody of their parents.
