HERNANDO – There are now two candidates vying for the top job at the Hernando County Sheriff's Office after former NYPD officer Joe Puglia (R) made it official last week.

Calls for someone to run against the embattled incumbent Sheriff Al Nienhuis have grown due to concerns of corruption, lack of transparency, and fiscal irresponsibility.
