Two Die After Motorcycle Collides with Car at a High Rate of Speed.

WESLEY CHAPEL – The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting the death of two people after a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle occurred yesterday afternoon on SR-56.

According to officials, a 30-year-old Tampa man was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on a GSX-R600 approaching the entrance of the Wire Grass Mall at Piazza Ave. A Nissan Altima driven by a 32-year-old Wesley Chapel woman attempted to turn into the plaza from the eastbound turn lane and drove into the path of the motorcycle. As a result, the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the vehicle, killing the motorcyclist.

The driver of the Nissan and her four adult passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries at that time, but officials are now reporting that a 32-year-old Georgia woman later succumbed to her injuries. The victim was seated on the passenger side of the vehicle where the collision occurred.
