Spring Hill Man Faces Slew of Charges After Running Over Crossing Guards

SPRING HILL – Yesterday, R News broke the news of a hit and run crash that injured two crossing guards at the intersection of Northcliffe Blvd and Deltona Blvd.

Today, officials released the identities of both crossing guards and the suspect who is charged with hitting them.

According to a statement from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, 911 operators received calls from witnesses who observed the driver of a tan sedan driving erratically in the area of Deltona Blvd. Moments later, the driver struck two crossing guards who were standing in the grassy median at the intersection. The driver then sped off and struck a drainage culvert which disabled his vehicle. The driver, later identified as 54-year-old Robert Noack, exited his vehicle a few blocks away from the scene of the crash and fled on foot. Deputies quickly located Noack and placed him into custody.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Noack is charged with 3-counts of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Serious Injury, Hit-and-Run with Property Damage, Driving Under the Influence, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Noack is currently held without bond at the Hernando County Jail.

Officials say 82-year-old Donald Jenkins of Weeki Wachee and 52-year-old Nicholas Gallicchio of Spring Hill were both transported to a trauma center for treatment. Jenkins is listed in serious condition and Gallicchio injuries were listed as minor.
