Woman Suspects Amazon Delivery Driver Stole Her French Bulldog

BROOKSVILLE – It's not uncommon for porch pirates to steal packages from the doorsteps of intended recipients, especially during the holidays, but not many would suspect an Amazon driver of taking more than they deliver. That's exactly what one woman says happened last week at her home inside the Amersham Isles gated community at Sterling Hills.

Nicole Exline tells R News that an Amazon employee delivered a package to her home on Copper Hill Driver around 9:15 a.m. last Friday, but when he left, she noticed her beloved French Bulldog "Kali" was missing.

Exline reported the theft to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and provided surveillance video of the driver and his vehicle to a deputy, but she was unable to capture the tag number. She also contacted Amazon who advised they would launch their own internal investigation, but they declined to disclose the driver's identity. CLICK FOR VIDEO

While canvassing her neighborhood, Exline says a neighbor told her that she talked to the driver and that he asked who the dog belonged to. He then placed the dog in his car and drove away.

Exline appeals to the driver, asking that he return her - no questions asked. "I won't even press charges against the driver if he will return her. Kali is not just a dog; she is a part of our family," says Exline.

French Bulldogs, "Frenchies" are highly sought-after and very expensive breeds that pet thieves often target. Exline says Kali is valued at around $7,000.

Neither the Sheriff's Office nor Amazon have responded to our requests for comment regarding the case.

Anyone with information regarding Kali's disappearance is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office and reference case# 2023-40423.
