Possible Shots Fired and Rollover Crash on US-19

SPRING HILL – At least one person is in custody after sources say shots were fired from a vehicle, which may have resulted in a rollover crash on US-19.

Around 6:15 p.m. this evening, Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue responded to reports of a rollover crash at the intersection of Pine Forest Drive and US-19.

Witnesses reported seeing a red pickup truck flip at least four times before coming to rest on its roof on US-19.

Sheriff’s Deputies then received reports that someone fired shots at the vehicle and fled the scene northbound on US-19.

Deputies were already in the area, and they located the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Berkley Manor Blvd and US-19. Deputies immediately detained a black male suspect.

Deputies brought a witness to conduct a “show up,” where they positively identified the suspect as the alleged shooter.

At least two people suffered unknown injuries in the crash and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

It has not been confirmed if shots were fired at this time.
