Former Explorer K-8 Teacher Faces Drug Charges

SPRING HILL – A former Hernando County School Teacher is in hot water this weekend, after sources say she was arrested for drug possession.

According to the Hernando County Detention Center website, 58-year-old Jill Katherine Leverich was arrested Friday morning on 4-counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Leverich resigned from Explorer K-8 in February for unknown reasons.

She was released on her own recognizance Saturday afternoon.

Leverich’s son, Nicholas Jacob Leverich was arrested on April 18th on similar drug charges. He is also the suspect who reportedly “molested” a yard statue, while fully nude, on Fairlawn Street prior to his arrest.

Those who know Jill Leverich say she was an amazing teacher who has struggled with her son’s drug addiction and numerous arrests.
