Two Teens Die in Rollover Crash, Three Others Survive - Seatbelts an Obvious Factor

LUTZ – An early morning vehicle crash has claimed the lives of two teenagers and injured three others.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old male driver of a 2011 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on US-41, when he lost control of the vehicle near Northwood Drive. Officials say the vehicle drove into a ditch and overturned, ejecting the driver and rear passenger, including a 19-year-old Spring Hill woman. Three other teens, 16, 18, and 18, all off Spring Hill, suffered only minor injuries.

The victims who died were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, say officials.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
